Challenge:
Today’s workforce is radically changed by technology, artificial intelligence, new social norms, and impacts of Covid-19. With all these changes, what is the younger workforce going to expect in an employer and workspace? And, what are the implications of these expectations for future employers, like Microsoft?
Approach:
International Connector engaged youth from 60 countries to garner insights into Generation Z. Participants were engaged as stakeholders in the process providing space for the youth voice to be heard. We developed feedback loops through an iterative research methodology allowing for new directions to emerge through the learnings of our youth stakeholders.
Outcome:
The process not only changed the way the Microsoft Innovation Team works on projects, but also provided insights that will help shape the future of their campuses globally. Youth continue to be consulted at critical stages in the development. In addition, multiple departments across Microsoft are embedding our work and youth network into their design and innovation processes.
